Monster Corps Reporting

Monster Corps Member Report Responsibilities

Availability

5 Days before month end (or when you start the program) fill out the spreadsheet with your availability. I am looking for date and number of hours.

Availability Spreadsheet

MC members who do not fill out their availability by the last day of the month will not have their accounts renewed automatically.

Task Assignments

Task Assignment happens two ways. Standing agreement or assignment by the Monster Corps Coordinator. The Monster Corps Coordinator chooses the method for each Monster Corps Member.

Coordinator Assigned Tasks

  1. The Monster Corps Coordinator will send you a link with a list of tasks you have been tagged for.
  2. Review the list and make sure that the deadlines work for you and that you have the information needed to complete the task
    1. If you need to move the deadline contact the Monster Corps Coordinator as soon as possible
    2. If you would like to swap a task out for another task contact the Monster Corps Coordinator as soon as possible

CHECK OFF TASKS IN ASANA AS YOU COMPLETE THEM!!!! <<<— very important

At the end of the Month

  • MC members should send a list or notification of what tasks in asana got done to the MC Coordinator.
  • Like for realz. Send the list. The MC coordinator will not track you down. Not even a little bit.

When you miss a deadline

  • Deadlines.  If you miss a deadline it is not the end of the world and we won’t kick you out into the cold right then.
  • How to report. Put a note in asana that you missed the deadline.
  • Set expectations. Say when you can do the thing.
  • Really, set expectations. If you can’t do the thing then say that too (time sensitive things, or you ran out of the will to do it, etc).

Often tasks are time sensitive and if you can’t do it anymore, we need to pass it to somebody else and keep things running smoothly.

Task assignment options

In some cases, MC member do not have to choose a new list of tasks each month. Working with the MC coordinator the following are also options.

  • Develop a list of static tasks that are done each month on a schedule
  • Be assigned to a large project for a span of time. Example: revising the wiki structure for 2 month

These arrangements still require reporting, but how that reporting works would be customized and agreed upon beforehand with the MC coordinator.

Program Membership Termination

Sometimes things just don’t work out. Things like bad timing or a bad match between skills and needs are all thing that can happen. Monster Corps participation is purely a volunteer arrangement. Folks can leave the program any time they would like. In some cases, AMT may need to terminate the volunteer agreement. In those cases, the Monster Corps member will be:

  1. Notified first (usually slack) of any challenges or performance issues.
  2. If issues persist, the member will be notified in writing.
  3. If issues continue to persist, the agreement may be terminated by AMT.

Termination from the Monster Corps program does not constitute termination of AMT membership eligibility as those matters are handled separately.
