How To Get In
There are two ways to get into the building.
- Become a member to get the exterior door code and a key fob. Members should never give out the door code or share their fob.
- Follow the instruction above the main building door keypad to get buzzed in by your host. Please keep in mind we do not have the staff to support drop-in visits. Please make an appointment or come to an event we are hosting.
Exterior Door
The door panel is programmed to call (510) 545-3245, a Google Voice number, when #214 is dialed. This number calls the phone in the space. If someone picks up and dials 9, the door opens.
The door panel can only make local calls. The Google Voice number is local to the number used by the door panel, and it can be forwarded to another phone to make everything work.
Interior Doors
The doors are controlled by FATT Devices and a latching relay which switches the 12V power supply for the door into the door solenoid to open and close it when a known RFID fob is presented to the reader. See the amtops source repository on Google Code or for details.
If any FATT device controlling a door goes down there are keys posted in other room. If the power goes out there is no alternative. If you have an imperative need to get in during an emergency call the AMT emergency contact.
