Duties

President

The President is the day to day executive of Ace Monster Toys. This is the public face and normal decision maker for the organization. He or she organizes projects, sets meeting agendas, meets with landlords, shakes babies, kisses hands. The President deals with the normal problems that come up (i.e. if someone sees a mouse or a leak). They are authorized to make contracts on behalf of AMT with vendors and be the liaison with our landlord. They set policy for asset management, buy insurance, recruit other leaders. The President appoints the various Tool Stewards and manages them.

At a higher level, the President is responsible for setting culture at AMT, communicating our mission, vision, and values. They promote volunteerism as a vital part of AMT's culture. They collaborate with the Board to set Ace's goals, and base daily decisions on our goals and mission. The President is responsible for overall compliance with applicable regulations (e.g. to maintain our 501(c)(3) status), along with the other officers. The President reports on the state of the organization to the Board, gives tours to visiting hackers, develops programming of classes and other offerings for how AMT provides benefit to the world.

This position is expected to contribute 60 hours or more per month complete the responsibilities and duties and receives a stipend of approx. $800 per month (before taxes).

Secretary

The Secretary is in charge of all documentation. He or she takes (or causes to be taken) and publishes minutes of board meetings, maintains filing systems including institutional knowledge and any necessary specifics of private issues. The Secretary is responsible for checking our mail and filing or distributing it if needed to the responsible party. They are responsible for making sure all legal documentation is filed in a timely manner. The Secretary receives and processes donations and makes sure any in-kind donators receive the appropriate receipts. The Secretary is officially responsible for maintaining the list of Members of Ace Monster Toys, which is done through the acemonstertoys.org website.

Along with the other officers, they help set the vision and goals of the organization and execute policies towards these goals. They promote volunteerism as a vital part of AMT's culture.

This position is expected to contribute 12 hours or more per month complete the responsibilities and duties and receives a stipend of approx. $159.96 per month (before taxes).

A Day In The Life

Treasurer

The Treasurer is in charge of money. They report our financials to the Board, process reimbursements, recommend any new financial software, disseminate financial information generally, and process everything related to accounting except bookkeeping (the province of our contract bookkeeper). The Treasurer pays or causes to be paid all our bills. They drive financial decision making in collaboration with the President and the Board, and recommends policy around our finances. The Treasurer heads up and manages the Budget Committee and owns the budget setting process. The Treasurer is officially responsible for maintaining member and other billing records, which are kept on our website acemonstertoys.org. The Treasurer sets policy around billing, sends out bills, and tracks payments.

Along with the other officers, they help set the vision and goals of the organization and execute policies towards these goals. They promote volunteerism as a vital part of AMT's culture.

The treasurer also reports the "state of the money" to the board and other officers.  This position is expected to contribute 22 hours or more per month complete the responsibilities and duties and receives a stipend of approx. $278.50 per month (before taxes).

Fundraising Officer

The Fundraising Officer delivers the Board's annual fundraising goals by working with grant writers to obtain grant money, and other fundraising platforms. They educate the organization on what requirements are needed for any particular grant money (e.g. for Grant X, an Anti-Harrassment policy is required).

The Fundraising Officer helps drive vision and goals and maintain AMT's culture by promoting volunteerism as the solution to challenges. They are responsible for basic critical thinking around compliance, and base decisions on AMT's vision, mission, and goals.

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the AMT "brand", web design and updates, social networking, advertising (if any), and sending out the newsletter. They communicate Ace's mission, goals, and values, and promote volunteerism as a vital part of AMT's culture. They encourage blogging about AMT activities and member projects. They are aware of AMT's compliance responsibilities and take care to communicate it properly in all marketing materials.

Membership Coordinator

The Membership Coordinator handles onboarding of new provisional members including receiving membership documents and activating fobs, as well as managing automated communications from the website. They answer cries for help from members. They are the first resource for problems occurring between members. They are also responsible for expelling any provisional member who is a problem, according to the criteria for "dismemberment". The Membership Coordinator is responsible for setting these criteria (with Board approval) and implementing it when needed. Membership Coordinator also manages additional member services such as lockers for rental, liaising with the Treasurer as needed. They may communicate with members about their bills, liaising with the Treasurer as needed.

At some point in the future, when our Bylaws permit, the Membership Coordinator will also manage the process of transitioning provisional members into Full Members (TODO: find link about this and place it here). At this time they will also be responsible for the process of "dismemberment" for Full Members, should that become needed, and for creating policy around that as well.

Vice President

The Vice President assists the president in their duties. Specifically the VP deals with purchasing and supplies, and with moderating our communication platforms both directly and by managing a cadre of member volunteers.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator assesses and collates organizational needs and finds people to fill them. They teach the volunteers about AMT culture and institutional knowledge, and coordinate any specific training that may be required. They recruit volunteers generally and for specific tasks. They work closely with the Monster Corps Coordinator.

The Volunteer Coordinator helps drive vision and goals and maintain AMT's culture by promoting volunteerism as the solution to challenges. They are responsible for basic critical thinking around compliance, and base decisions on AMT's vision, mission, and goals.

Monster Corps_Coordinator

The Monster Corps Coordinator handles volunteer work for all of the folks in the  Monster Corps Program. The coordinator also maintains all the credits for program members and the application process, assigns MC tasks and validates task completion. With the Volunteer Coordinator and other officers, they assess organizational needs and help fill them. The Monster Corps Coordinator writes and implements a formal Monster Corps agreement.
